Govinda's Vegetarian Restaurant, Philladelphia, PA

This is for those who crave the occasional cheese steak in their lives! Govinda's has an amazing Chicken Cheese steak! I had one tonight, topped with soy cheese and vegan mayo! I jumped for joy when she asked if I wanted mayo, it has been too long since I have had hot mayo in a sandwich! My sister had the chicken quesadilla with soy cheese and BBQ dipping sauce. (which was also delish!). They have a case full of desserts from Vegan Treats as well. I ordered a cinnamon roll smothered in cream cheese frosting. I am not gonna lie, it was the best cinnamon roll I have EVER had! We ate half before our food arrived. The point is, swing by this cafe bc you will not be disappointed! :D

Fire and Spice Hartford, Connecticut

Ok, now my travels have me eating in Hartford , Connecticut. Honestly I was worried I was going to starve to death here. Luckily, I came across a place so delightful I almost peed my pants! This place uses organic ingredients, pumps out fresh juices like no tomorrow, and has a small selection of desserts. The really cool thing about this place is how much food you get for the price! I think my plate weighed about 4 pounds, and I paid 11 bucks! There were greens, rices, beans, tofu dishes dumplings! You can pick the size of the container you want, and they will fill it full of everything they have in the store. You get a platter that samples the tastes of everything! Just know when you go, things may take a little longer than most cafes. It is a relaxed environment. There was reggae on the radio and a pile of veg magazines for you to look through while you wait. Plus, on their website, they have a coupon! Woooohoooo save some dough!

Cafe Evolution, Florence Mass

So I have been doing some road tripping lately, and I want to tell you about my finds! Consider me Happy Karen instead of Happy Cow. Ok, what I really want to say is there is an AMAZING vegen cafe in the middle of a cute town called Florence Massachusetts. It has tons of vegan comfort foods. The setting in the cafe is artistic and comfortable. There are couches, chairs, pillows, and awesome Polaroid art on the walls. The owner is a super cool, down to earth artist! I had a GIANT mocha cupcake, filled with heaven! I had something like a potpie, which made me cry a little on the inside. The flavors were seriously too good to be true! I have eaten as some seriously expensive, fancy vegan restaurants, and they all have nothing on this place!

3 Brothers Pizza (VEGAN) LONG ISLAND NY

Ok, so go to 3 brothers pizza. It is that easy. Go, get a vegan pie, eat until you can't eat anymore (which may be just one slice!). I got the buffalo chicken pizza, added onions and pineapple. OMG (that is oh my god for those of you who may not know). The place has "normal" people food as well, so you can go with friends who are not vegan and everyone is happy. Woohoo happy. In all seriousness, this place gets 2 thumbs up! They also have desserts, and it is affordable. Good times all around. Oh and, they use Daiya cheese if that is something that tickles your fancy. I know it made my happy :)

Girls night out, ASIA SF

Hey vegan ladies! This is just gonna be a quick rant. I went to Asia SF last night. It's a drag bar with amazing food. Since I am a vegan, I was worried that I was not going to be able to enjoy dinner like most "normal" people. Boy was I wrong! I had 2 great entrees, both with tofu that was packed with flavor! They did not have a vegan dessert, but instead offer you muscat or port! I had the muscat, which was a sweet ending! So if you are looking for a wild night with food, dancing and drag queens all in one place, Asia SF is the place you want to be!

Millennium, San Francsico's AMAZING Vegan Restaurant

I am ranting and raving about SF's Millennium restaurant on Geary St. I love this place! It is a great place to go on a date or just for dinner with friends. There is nothing like going to a nice place and knowing you can order anything you want on the menu, and it is going to come out looking like amazing, cruelty free art! This place makes me feel "normal!" I have been twice, and plan on going back again very soon! They have specials such as convert a carnivore night, where you get a discount on your food for bringing in meat eaters. Much fun!!!! Ok, enough said. Please give it a try, you will not be disappointed!

Vegan Peanut Brittle

I just wanted to share a small secret on how to make Vegan Peanut Brittle. You can take any of your peanut brittle recipes that call for butter, and use vegan butter. Ta-Da! That easy. Just omit the salt, since Earth Balance is salty enough. Plus remember not to buy roasted salted peanuts, salt overkill!

SO EASY! Great gift, great snack.
